Our Story
InnoviCat — short for Innovative Cat — started from a simple frustration: using many different online tools and finding the quality wildly inconsistent. Too many tools gave wrong results, used outdated formulas, hid the methodology, or required unnecessary sign-ups just to perform a basic calculation. So I decided to build my own tools for the things I actually needed.
What began as a personal project grew into something bigger. I discovered that I genuinely enjoy applying my research skills to understand the science and standards behind each tool, and then implementing them properly. The goal for every tool on InnoviCat is to be the best in its class.
We pay close attention to feedback and actual usage, and we focus our resources on the tools that matter most to you — the squeaky wheel gets the grease! If you think a tool could be better, or if we're missing a tool you need, you can file your complaint directly with our Site Supervisor. Fair warning: all complaints will be acknowledged with a slow blink and promptly ignored 🐱. Our Approach
Every tool goes through a rigorous development process. We start by identifying the authoritative source for each calculation — whether that is a WHO formula, an IETF RFC, an ISO standard, or peer-reviewed research. The implementation is then tested against known reference values to verify correctness. For example, our BMI calculator is validated against WHO classification tables, and our duct sizing tools are checked against ASHRAE handbook examples.
We use a modular architecture that separates pure calculation logic from the user interface. This means the mathematical core of each tool can be independently tested and verified without browser dependencies. Our automated test suite runs over 300 checks on every build, covering calculation accuracy, accessibility compliance, and content consistency across all seven supported languages.
Standards-Based Accuracy
We don't make up formulas. Our calculations are based on established standards from authoritative sources:
Health Tools
BMI calculations use the standard WHO formula and CDC classification thresholds. Our calorie and macro calculators reference USDA dietary guidelines and peer-reviewed research on metabolic rates.
Financial Calculators
Loan amortization and mortgage calculations use standard formulas from financial mathematics. Our investment calculators apply compound interest formulas consistent with Federal Reserve and IRS documentation.
Unit Converters
Conversion factors come from NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) and the International System of Units (SI). Cooking conversions reference USDA Food Data Central.
Developer Tools
Encoding tools follow IETF standards (RFC 4648 for Base64, etc.). JSON and text processing tools adhere to ECMA and W3C specifications.

All InnoviCat tools process data entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. Your financial details, health information, and personal documents never leave your device.

Learning & Practice Tools
The Learning collection includes 10 reasoning trainers. Each canonical page combines generated exercises, explanations, concept lessons, worked examples, practice guidance, and related tools. Rhythm Trainer and Ear Pitch Trainer also appear in Learning while retaining Music as their canonical category.
Choose from four difficulty levels and use optional tutorial hints as needed. The collection is available in all seven supported languages at Learning & Practice Tools.
