About This Tool

Create personalized printable calendars with your own events, photos, and color themes. Choose from multiple views, customize every detail, and export a high-quality PDF ready to print or share. Your data stays private — everything runs in your browser.

How to Use

  1. Choose a view mode and navigate to your desired month or year
  2. Add events by clicking on days, customize colors and fonts
  3. Export as PDF or save the project file to edit later

Methodology

The calendar grid is generated according to the Gregorian calendar system, which is the international civil calendar standard used by most countries worldwide. Days are placed into a 7-column grid starting from the selected first day of the week. Week numbers follow the ISO 8601 standard: week 1 is the week containing the year's first Thursday, and weeks run from Monday to Sunday. PDF generation uses the pdf-lib library to produce ISO 32000-compliant documents with embedded fonts and images.

Understanding Your Results

The calendar preview on screen shows exactly what your exported PDF will look like. Events appear as colored labels within their respective day cells. Background images are rendered with the selected opacity level. The exported PDF is ready for printing at the chosen paper size. For the sharpest results, use the same paper size in your printer settings as the one selected in the tool.

Practical Examples

Example 1: Create a family calendar for June 2026. Select monthly view, navigate to June 2026, and add birthday events for family members (each with a unique color). Set "Mom's Birthday" on June 14 with yearly recurrence. Add a family photo as the background with 20% opacity, choose the "Ocean" theme and landscape orientation, then export as a PDF on A4 paper. Example 2: Create a quarterly work planner. Select multi-month view with 3 months per page, navigate to Q3 2026 (July-September). Add recurring "Sprint Review" events every two weeks on Fridays. Use the "Monochrome" theme for a clean professional look, portrait orientation on Letter paper, and export the PDF.

Tips for Better Calendars

• Use landscape orientation for wall calendars — it gives each day more horizontal space and looks great when hung up. • Keep event titles short (2-3 words) so they fit within the day cells without being cut off. Use the description field for longer details. • For family calendars, assign a different color to each family member's events. This makes it easy to see who has what at a glance. • When adding a background image, reduce the opacity to 15-25% so the calendar text and events remain clearly readable. • Use the multi-month view with 3 months per page for a compact quarterly overview that fits on a single sheet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Calendar Maker work?
Select a view mode (monthly, multi-month, weekly, or yearly), navigate to your desired date range, and customize the appearance with color themes, fonts, and layout options. Add events by clicking on any day, attach images, and when you're satisfied, export the calendar as a PDF file ready for printing.
How do I add events to my calendar?
Click on any day in the calendar to open the event editor. Enter a title, optional description, and choose a color label. You can also set the event to repeat weekly, monthly, or yearly. Events appear as colored markers on the calendar and are included when you export to PDF.
Can I add images to my calendar?
Yes, you can add images in two ways. Add a photo to a specific day — it will appear as a small thumbnail within that day's cell. Or set a background image for the entire calendar with adjustable opacity, creating a personalized look. Supported formats are JPG, PNG, and WebP, with a maximum file size of 5 MB per image.
How do I export my calendar as a PDF?
Click the "Export PDF" button. The tool generates a high-quality PDF using your chosen paper size (A4, Letter, etc.) and orientation (portrait or landscape). Your events, images, and color theme are all included in the PDF. The generated file is ready for printing at home or at a print shop.
Can I save my calendar and edit it later?
Yes. Click "Save Project" to download a project file containing all your settings, events, and image references. To resume editing, click "Load Project" and select the saved file. The tool also automatically saves a draft in your browser, so if you accidentally close the tab, you can restore your work when you return.
Does the tool support recurring events?
Yes. When creating or editing an event, you can set it to repeat weekly, monthly, or yearly. You can also set an optional end date for the recurrence. For example, you can create a "Team Meeting" event that repeats every Monday, or a birthday that repeats yearly. Recurring events are automatically displayed on all applicable dates within the calendar.
Is my data private? Are files uploaded to a server?
Your data stays completely private. All processing — events, images, and PDF generation — happens entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server. Images you add are stored locally in memory during your session. Saved project files are downloaded to your device and never leave it.
What image formats and sizes are supported?
The tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP images. Each image can be up to 5 MB in size. For best results with day images, use square or near-square photos. For background images, a landscape orientation matching your paper size works well. Images are embedded directly into the exported PDF.
Can I change the language of month and weekday names?
Yes. The calendar automatically uses the language set on the website. Month names, weekday names, and all interface labels adapt to the selected language. Seven languages are available: English, Spanish, German, French, Greek, Dutch, and Italian.
What paper sizes are available for PDF export?
The tool supports A4 (210 x 297 mm, common worldwide), Letter (8.5 x 11 inches, standard in the US and Canada), and Legal (8.5 x 14 inches). Each can be exported in either portrait or landscape orientation. Choose the paper size that matches your printer for the best printing results.
